Justice Forum: towards better management of children’s claims cases

On Wednesday, 27 February, Pattinson & Brewer are hosting a ‘Justice Forum’ from 4pm at a central London venue. Focusing on the question:

“How can all involved with children’s claims manage cases cost-effectively and proportionally in the future, keeping the child at the centre and  protected at every stage?”

The forum – to be chaired by Martin Spencer QC – is open and free to an invited audience, but we will be encouraging donations to Sands (the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity) on the night.

The format will be: quick introductions, followed by a 10-minute contribution from each speaker. This will leave us around 30 minutes to open up the discussion amongst our invited guests. Powerpoint presentations are not required.

We ask contributors to provide comment and offer suggested new ways of working for the changing legal landscape. Topics that we might address include:

  • Care and rehabilitation
  • Mediation
  • Future protections for clients
  • Experts
  • Fixed fees
  • Duty of candour
  • Role of the NHS and private hospitals
  • Redress

If anyone already invited would like to suggest a guest, please contact me, Denise Kitchener (email link) or on 0207 400 5100. And if their particular profession isn’t represented, I will forward a personal invitation.

Wednesday, 27 February from 4 pm to 6.30pm.
