Personal Injury Awards: Arti wins ‘Young Achiever of the Year’!
Arti Shah of Pattinson & Brewer (London) is the Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards ‘Young Achiever’ of 2011.
The announcement was made at the awards ceremony and celebratory dinner last Thursday night (24th November) at the Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel, London. Managing Partner Frances McCarthy at Pattinson & Brewer was glowing in her praise of one of the youngest fee-earners in the firm.
“Arti’s ability and diligence is an open secret within P&B. But it’s absolutely fantastic that she’s now received public recognition of her professionalism and talents. Making it onto the Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards shortlist was an achievement in itself, as the number of entries this year has apparently been the highest ever. But to be acclaimed as THE Young Achiever really is something special!”
According to Proclaim, the sifting panel only put forward entries they considered to be potential winners, and Arti was thrilled at being part of such a prestigious event.
“It’s amazing to be even noticed at this early stage in my career. But to have actually won Young Achiever is a brilliant feeling! The terrific support given to me by Pattinson & Brewer, and Linda Levison in particular, has encouraged me to work with passion in the pursuit of justice for injured people. And on last night’s evidence, I’m obviously doing something right! The hard bit now is going to be living up to all this praise, and that starts today.”
At the ceremony, special mention was made of Arti’s current work involving a case waiting to be heard in the supreme court. In the nomination, the judges were told that Arti had navigated this case – addressing a long-standing lacuna in the law – on behalf of a client who suffered catastrophic injuries arising out of a crime of violence. Jones v First Tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber) [2011] EWCA Civ 400 will go to the Supreme Court in Summer 2012.
The list of all winners in the 2011 Competition will be published 25th.November. Arti will also be writing (an ‘Arti-cle’) about the experience in our blog, which will be available to read soon (http://mylegalopinions.wordpress.com/).
