Just not cricket at the Ageas Bowl: an arresting opportunity to network with Hampshire police!
How our Business Development Director Denise Kitchener was bowled over by Police Federation hospitality at Hampshire cricket’s HQ…
It was a great pleasure to meet so many Hampshire Police Federation members at their annual meeting on 9 October.
Thanks to John Apter, Branch Chairman, for the invite and the opportunity to discuss directly with so many officers the current issues that are at the forefront of their minds.
At the meeting I was also impressed by the work of the Flint House Police Rehabilitation Centre, in Reading. Chatting with Kevin Bishop, I found out about the history of the house, which was originally constructed in 1913. Since then it has been used as a private home, a hospital, a school, a training centre and, finally, as the Police Rehabilitation Centre.
Every year, the various healthcare teams within Flint House help over 3000 injured police officers to get back to full operational health. Incredible, inspirational work!
I had an enjoyable meal, too, with local members of NARPO (National Association of Retired Police Officers) – another great support network.
